What is a WebSplash,
and What Can It Do For Me?
A WebSplash is simply a one-page website with webmail. It gets you online. It's particularly well-suited for those of you who are not yet online, due to cost, procrastination, or some other barrier; or those of you who aren't really convinced yet that you need to be online--you don't go online, you don't use email, you don't see the value of having a website--yet your friends and associates keep telling you that you need to be online. The WebSplash is a good way to "get your feet wet." It's effective and very affordable. Remember, your customers are online--you should be, too.
A WebSplash is an online presence, custom-made and personalized for your business, that can relate information such as your name, address, and phone numbers; your business hours; your products and/or services offered; payments accepted; how to contact you. It can also include content about you, such as your history; your community involvement; key personnel; current, past and future projects; photos of your business; and much more. In effect, it's an extensive, custom-made online directory listing of your business or organization. For a modest price, just $500 and one good business lead for us, you can get a pretty nice online presence.
You will also receive one complimentary webmail account that matches your domain name/website (ie. [email protected]). It gives a professional image to your business and your website. With your webmail account, you will be able to send, receive and forward emails, and more. (Some people choose to promote their current email address, in lieu of setting up a webmail address, just as a matter of preference.)
So what's the downside? The downside of getting a one-page WebSplash is in it's functionality: you get only one page to promote your business (max. 1000px wide by 4000px long, or about 4 screen pages long). In order to view all of the information that you've included in your one-page website, your visitors may have to scroll down, down, down. And that can be a turn-off to them. Also, any changes or updates you wish to make to your website must be made through us at regular hourly rates (corrections or minor informational changes excepted).
Your WebSplash does not have an expiration date, per se, but your domain name registration does. It will expire one-year from the registration date. You may be allowed to renew your domain name and hosting through us at the then-current rate, if you so choose, which will keep your WebSplash showing on the internet. Or, if you choose not to renew, you can just let your domain name and webmail expire. Upon expiration of your domain name and webmail: you will no longer "own" your registered domain name, and someone else may acquire it; you will no longer have access to your webmail account and will not be able to send, receive, or retrieve any webmail there; your WebSplash webpage will become inactive and no longer show up on the internet; and we will be relieved of any further obligation to you. You may also transfer your domain name to another registrar and hosting service at any time, if you so choose. Please note that your WebSplash webpage has limited transferability, but your page content contained therein may be used elsewhere.
Any future changes to your WebSplash will be at additional hourly rates. In the case of minor changes to contact information, or corrections, etc, we will be happy to accommodate free of charge. As always, you may also choose to upgrade to another of our website packages, with full credit given for your current purchase, if ordered within 12 months of purchase.
